OUR TEAM

Our Story

We first crossed paths in 2018 at a college ministry event at UC, and not long after, we began dating. Our days were filled with countless hours spent at local coffee shops, dreaming of one day starting a church together. Olivia grew up surrounded by a family of church planters, pastors, and missionaries, while Thomas discovered his calling to pastoral ministry during his college years.

In 2020, we got married and immediately dove into the college ministry that had not only introduced Thomas to Christ but also brought us together. A year after moving to Westwood, we found ourselves deeply connected to the community and felt a strong calling to plant a church right here in our own neighborhood.

In August 2024, we welcomed our baby boy, Ransom, and the journey has been nothing short of a whirlwind. We invite you to join us as we embark on this exciting new chapter, planting Christ The Redeemer and witnessing God’s faithfulness along the way.

Leadership

Thomas Zimmerman

Lead Pastor

Hello! Thomas here! I am honored to Pastor Christ The Redeemer. I never thought I would plant or church or be a pastor. In fact, when I moved to Cincinnati in 2015 to go to UC, I wanted nothing to do with God – I was vicious to the Christians around me, mocking them relentlessly for their faith. A couple years into school, a friend challenged me on why I was so angry at God. This sent me on a path to discover who Jesus actually was, eventually leading me to hearing the Gospel and experiencing a radical conversion. Jesus & His Gospel transformed my life, and ever since my passion has been to share the Good News of the redemption Christ offers us all.

My wife, Olivia, and I have been passionate about church planting since we met in college. When we moved to Westwood in 2023, we quickly saw a need for a Biblically faithful, Gospel centered church to serve those who have called Westwood home for generations, and the huge number of young adults and families flocking to the blossoming community. Olivia, our son Ransom, our dog Lady, and I are thrilled to be apart of Westwood and to see Christ on display here for generations to come.
